Yes — solidification is a sign of purity! Cold pressed coconut oil solidifies below 24°C and melts back to clear liquid when warm. Refined coconut oils are hydrogenated or modified to stay liquid, which creates harmful trans fats. If your coconut oil solidifies in winter, it is genuinely pure and unrefined.

Cold pressed coconut oil has a smoke point of approximately 177°C (350°F), making it suitable for sautéing, stir-frying, shallow frying, and baking. For high-temperature deep frying, we recommend pairing it with our cold pressed groundnut oil which has a higher smoke point. Both are far healthier than refined vegetable oils.
