Refined oils go through chemical solvent extraction, bleaching, deodorisation and often hydrogenation, stripping out nutrients and adding trans fats in the process. Cold pressed oils and Bilona ghee keep all their natural nutrients, antioxidants and healthy fats. Switching to this combo is one of the most impactful changes you can make to how you cook.

Both are heat stable. A2 Desi Cow Ghee has a smoke point of around 250 degrees Celsius. Cold pressed groundnut oil handles up to around 180 degrees Celsius. Use the ghee for tadka, roasting and sweets. Use the cold pressed oil for everyday cooking and frying. Both are far more stable than refined vegetable oils at Indian cooking temperatures.

The A2 Desi Cow Ghee has a shelf life of 9 months from the manufacture date. Cold pressed oils have a shelf life of 12 months. Everything is dispatched fresh so you receive maximum remaining shelf life. Store ghee at room temperature and oil in a cool dry spot away from sunlight. No refrigeration required for either.

Both need similar conditions. Keep them in a cool spot away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Neither needs refrigeration. The ghee is fine at room temperature. The cold pressed oil should be stored away from the stove and used within 12 months of the manufacture date. Closing the caps tightly after each use matters more than anything else for keeping both fresh.
